Is there a musty or moldy smell in your home? An unknown substance on the wall or ceiling? Did a home inspector find possible mold growth? Consider professional mold testing and inspection to verify if there is a mold issue.
To save yourself time, money and energy make sure you call a certified professional. They can provide evidence and a complete picture of whether or not there is mold present in your home along with a solution to it. It is true that there are other alternatives such as purchasing a mold testing kit from your local hardware store, but the truth is that these kits can be uninformative at best as they can only indicate the presence of mold but not the type, amount or any idea how to treat and resolve the issue.
After identifying whether there is a mold issue or not, is to confirm the source and make sure that has been addressed. Common sources are – improper ventilation in attics (including bath fans), long unnoticed leaks or prior water damage to a portion of the home or business that was never properly addressed. Once the source has been identified and addressed, remediation can begin.
Once remediation has been completed per the scope of work, make sure to have post remediation mold testing done as your scientific proof that the mold has been thoroughly remediated.
